Just barely survived, and got Abomination Skin Leggings to drop. Got lucky with a crit shot when he got close, then a crit Raptor Strike to finish him off, leaving me with a couple hundred health. Once I was far enough away (using a Concussive Shot to slow him further), I turned around and started shooting. Let the pet do most of the damage until I ran out of mana (after popping a Lesser Mana Potion), then once the pet died I wing-clipped Sever and ran away (at this point he had about 1000 health, a little less than me). He set off the trap, I used Feign Death to send him back on my pet. Kept shooting until the pet started getting low (with Sever around 65% health), then started healing like crazy until he stunned the pet and went after me. Theres a high chance of being ganked by Horde on the way to Shadowfang Keep, but that chance lessens when theres less people playing, obviously. PROTIP: Do this quest early in the morning. Used Intimidation on him (he's immune to the stun, but the extra aggro on the pet is essential!), turned on Rapid Fire, and hit him with a Serpent Sting. Besides, the road to Shadowfang Keep is the Northern side of the fork in the road just before Pyrewood (/tloc 49,72) so head up the hill to your right. Set an Explosive Trap at the doorway, set Hunter's Mark on Sever, got my mana back up to full, then set pet on Sever. Some of the notable items and loot that Shadowfang Keep has to offer includes Barons Scepter, Silverlaines Family Seal, Commanders Crest, Meteor Shard and Feline Mantle.
